Emmanuel Ogwo : The Story So Far

Personal | 1st Feb, 2020

Hi, I'm Emmanuel Ogwo, third born in a family of four children and this is my story so far.

"Seeing a great change and rapid improvement that information, communication and technology is making in the world, I developed great interest in the field of information technology and would like to make a great contribution in the field"

In 2015, I made the decision to broaden my knowledge of information communication technology by studying Advanced diploma in Software Engineering at APTECH . The course gave me in-depth insight in information communication technology and development of software that makes changes to the way people work with technology.

During the course of my training I developed skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Java, Google advertisement and .NET. I also had the opportunity to work on some projects for example development of a website for a sports club, development of a desktop application for hospital information management and development of a website for searching and making hotel reservations and online food orders.

"I believe it is impossible to be fully efficient in a business society without the knowledge of information and communications technology.

At completion of my Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering (ADSE) from APTECH Computer Education, I had the opportunity of working in a Software company “Bincom ICT Solutions” between May, 2017 and February, 2018, first as a Trainee Developer, then as a PHP/MySQL Intern and as a Junior Associate in the organization. My experience included training groups of prospective employees on programming with PHP and frameworks, heading project teams and supervising some of the company’s projects. This experience deepened both my leadership and technical skills. I have a lot to be grateful to this company for.

In August 2018, I completed my BSc (Hons) Information Technology and Business Information Systems at Middlesex University, Mauritius. Through this course, I have developed a set of core IT skills and abilities, complemented by a sound commercial awareness and understanding of business-oriented computing.
Some of the modules I studied during the course of my programme are: Strategic Management & Information Systems, Social, Professional, Legal & Ethical Issues in Information Systems and Human Factor in Information Technology. I also, had the opportunity of building a facial recognition attendance system for my final project using Kairos API. Also, while studying for my BSc degree in Mauritius, I fell in 😍 with a beautiful girl who is currently my girlfriend.

I currently work as a part-time software developer for Expat.com while also studying for a master’s degree (MSc Business Information System Management) at Middlesex University, Mauritius.

I really enjoy playing games, I play a lot of football, table tennis, watch TED Talks and I'm in 💙 with the game of FIFA 🎮

My goal is to become a very proficient software developer and like I said at the beginning "make a great contribution in the field of information technology"
